LANE GIFT SHOP AT THE BCAC

The Lane Gift Shop is located in what was the former waiting room of the historic Atlantic Coastline Railway depot on the corner of Main and Gladden Streets in downtown Washington.

The Lane Gift Shop, named for founding members Louise & Harold Lane, was officially opened for business on October 11, 1987. Since that time, hundreds of local artists have been afforded the opportunity to show and sale their work to the public. A variety of original fine art pieces and craft items by local or regional artists can be found throughout the shop.

Gift shop hours are Tuesday - Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm and occasionally. Weekend and evening hours are during special events such as the monthly artisans' market (2nd Saturday of each month in the summer) and Music In The Streets (3rd Friday April through October). Call 252-946-2504 for more information.

How do I show and sell my work?

Artists of the Lane Gift Shop must be in good standing and at least 18 years of age. Exhibitors must sign the agreement and release forms provided and be a member of the Beaufort County Arts Council.

Artists are permitted no more than six items at a time for sale in the gift shop, except for original note cards and stationary items. Items are required to be rotated every six months.

All work is juried for acceptance by the Gift Shop Committee. Every effort is made to assure that the gift shop carries items of the highest quality.

The Beaufort County Arts Council will retain a commission of 30% on all works sold.
