Shana Tucker
Chamber Soul Cello & Songs
Christmas Show
January 16, 2015
8:00pm

"Her voice alone would support a career. What makes Tucker special is her adherence to the cello, boldly taking the instrument into new territory. Much like vocalist Esperanza Spalding with her double bass, Tucker and her cello blur the lines in our heads that divide classical, jazz, folk, R&B and soul... The only emotion not catalogued is fear. She burned down the house." — Sylvia Pfeiffenberger, INDYWEEK.COM

The Malpass Brothers
Saturday, March 28, 2015
8:00pm

This is the real deal, folks. There is no pretense. This is music steeped in the legacy of the Louvin Brothers, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, Sr. & others. Count on classic, real country. Count on new Malpass tunes. Count on a couple of old-time traditional gospels. Count on giggles and ribbing between brothers, along with daddy on the bass, who’s bound to be thinking, “What the hell are they doing now?” Count on some big, high hair, and maybe an Elvis twitch or two.

Throughout the year the Beaufort County Arts Council plays the proud host to several annual events that define the council and the arts in our community. These events anchor a varied and constantly growing program encompassing all the arts: music, dance, theater, etc., and our yearly fall Fine Arts Show brings the work of renowned artists hailing from all corners of the Southeast to Beaufort County's gallery go-ers.
