Upcoming Events

The BCAC Box Office is open Tuesday-Friday from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM. The box office is open an hour and a half before each event start time for sales at the door. As of August 29th, BCAC will be selling tickets for select events at the box office and online via Vendini. Look for the "Buy Tickets Now" button accompanying certain shows. All events are at the Turnage Theater unless otherwise noted.

DAR HE: The Story of Emmett Till

In 1955, a 14-year-old black Chicago youth traveled to the Mississippi Delta with country kinfolk and southern cooking on his mind. He walked off the train and into a world he could never understand. It was a world of thick color lines, of hard-held class systems and unspeakable taboos. Young Emmett crossed that line and into his gruesome fate by whistling at a white woman. This riveting play chronicles the murder, trial and unbelievable confession of the men accused of Till’s lynching.

Treasure Island
Theatre For Youth Performance & Workshop

Join us in this wonderfully excitng and fun production, “Treasure Island” performed by the ECU School of Theatre and Dance students. At the end of this hour-long performance, audience members can meet and greet the cast, and children and youth may take part in a short after-the-play workshop writng their own original play!

Lucky Stiff: Concert Version

Lucky Stiff is an offbeat, hilarious murder mystery farce complete with mistaken identities, six million bucks in diamonds, and a corpse in a wheelchair. The story revolves around an unassuming English shoe salesman who is forced to take the embalmed body of his recently murdered uncle on a vacation to Monte Carlo. Should he succeed in passing his uncle off as alive, Harry Witherspoon stands to inherit $6,000,000. If not, the money goes to the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn, or else his uncle's gun-toting ex! Featuring a tuneful score and an ensemble cast of zany characters, Lucky Stiff is an audience charmer and will leave you dying of laughter.


"Let's Put On A Play"
Youth Camp
June 22-26, 2015

Students under the direction of Steve Myott will create and produce an original play. This is a unique start to finish activity that fully encompasses all aspects of the play-making process. The children learn basic dramatic skills and devices through improvisational exercises, continuing into the creation and fruition of an entire play. The culmination of the workshop will result in a performance for family and friends on Friday, June 20 at 7:00PM at the Turnage Theater.

Film Acting Workshop With Steve Myott

Ever thought about being in the movies? The Beaufort County Arts Council will be conducting a Film Acting workshop on Saturday, March 14. This two-hour workshop, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, will offer information on how to get started in film acting. Current information regarding casting agencies, talent agencies, and opportunities for extra and stand-in work will also be covered during the workshop. All information will be pertinent to current productions in the region, particularly the Wilmington area.

The Malpass Brothers

Count on giggles and ribbing between brothers, along with daddy on the bass, who’s bound to be thinking, “What the hell are they doing now?” Count on some big, high hair, and maybe an Elvis twitch or two.


"Let's Make A Movie"
Youth Camp
June 15-19, 2015

Instructor Steve Myott will conduct a unique camp that involves all of the exciting aspects of film-making, from story creation to acting on film. They will learn film terms and experience what it is like to be a big-screen star! At the end of the week, family and friends are invited to a “Premiere” of the film on June 13 at 7PM at the Turnage Theater. DVD copies of the film will be given to each participant.
