OPENING CONCERT AT THE TURNAGE THEATER

Back from NYC for more! Kicking off Friday night with an 8pm concert at the Turnage Theater are Lipbone Redding & The Lipbone Orchestra. An Eastern North Carolina native (formerly known as Citizen One), inventive singer/songwriter/guitarist/voice-instrumentalist and former subway musician, Lipbone Redding revs up the party and creates original songs that effervesce with New Orleans swing, Memphis grooves and New York City style. Known for his ability to use his vocal to sound exactly like a trombone, it's hard to tell the difference -- unless you witness the phenomenon live. Lipbone and his two-man orchestra make for a show greased with uncanny riffs of vocal trumpeting, booming mouth percussion, hilarious side moments and esoteric lyrics.

Just ask anyone who was at last year's concert with Lipbone! It was such a great show, we had to ask him back for more!

Performance is Friday, April 15, 2011 8:00 pm at the Turnage Theater, 150 West Main Street, DOWNTOWN Washington. Ticket price: $15 General Admission. Call 252.975.1191 for tickets or visit www.turnagetheater.com.
